Late
Work. Homework and papers must be turned in on time.
The mark assigned to late work will be (at least) several grades lower
than if the work had been turned in on time.
I am willing to consider extensions
if you make your request in ADVANCE.
Missing
Work. All work must be completed—even if it is late.
If you have not completed all
the requirements of the course (Papers, Quizzes) by the last day of class, the
grade for the entire course will be "F"
Fleet
Standards. I intend to treat you the way I treat junior officers in my
wardroom on a ship. I will expect
you to give your best to each assignment. I
will be very displeased if you do not do your best. Successful officers
don’t do just “good enough” to get by…
Extra
Instruction or ---just plain help.
There is NO LIMIT to the time I have to assist you.
I will spend as much time with you as you need—or want.
Drop by my office at any time. If
you want to make sure I am going to be free, call or E-Mail and make an
appointment. Midshipmen have first
priority. You are welcome to call me at
home. You have my phone number
and E-Mail; use them.
Absence
and Tardiness. If you are absent on a day a paper is due, send in the paper
with a classmate or by E-Mail. Expect
me to pay close attention to absences. Unexcused
absences will result in administrative or disciplinary action.
Tardiness is not acceptable under normal conditions.
If you are late to class, ensure that you speak to me after class to
explain the circumstances.
Grading Policy:
Weekly
Papers 50%
Class Participation 25%
Final Paper 25%

- Plagiarism or cheating will result in a Grade of
“F” for the course
- and will be cause for dismissal from the NROTC
program.
